Forced Labour & Human Trafficking Policy
Commitment
IsoGentiX has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery in all its forms, including forced labour, debt bondage, and human trafficking. This policy applies to all directors, employees, contractors, field partners, and supply chain relationships. It has been prepared with reference to the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and the ILO Forced Labour Convention.
Prohibited conduct
- Using forced, compulsory, or bonded labour in any part of IsoGentiX's operations or supply chain
- Withholding identity documents, wages, or freedom of movement as a means of controlling workers
- Recruiting workers through deceptive means or charging recruitment fees that create debt bondage
- Benefiting from or facilitating the trafficking of persons for labour or sexual exploitation
- Engaging suppliers or contractors known or suspected to use forced labour
Field employment standards
All field personnel engaged by IsoGentiX in Madagascar — including guides, community liaison staff, and field technicians — must be engaged on a voluntary basis, with written terms of engagement in a language they understand, at rates that meet or exceed applicable local minimum standards. Workers must be free to terminate their engagement at any time without penalty.
IsoGentiX does not use child labour. For the purposes of this policy, no person under 18 years of age will be engaged for field work.
Supply chain due diligence
IsoGentiX expects all suppliers, contractors, and partners to operate to equivalent standards. Where due diligence identifies a risk of forced labour or trafficking in a supply chain relationship, IsoGentiX will work with the supplier to remediate or will terminate the relationship.
Reporting
Any suspicion of forced labour or human trafficking in connection with IsoGentiX's operations or supply chain must be reported immediately to a director. Where legally required, reports will be made to the National Crime Agency or equivalent authority. No person will face retaliation for raising a concern in good faith.
